Chelsea Military Antiques was formed in 1997 by Richard Black and, for thirteen years, operated from the world-famous Antiquarius Antique Centre on the King’s Road in London.
British campaign and gallantry medals have always been a major part of the business. In 2003, John Peters, formerly of Empire Medals, joined the company, bringing further specialist knowledge and experience. Medal specialist Roan Hackney joined in 2005, and since then medals have become the core focus of the business.
In 2012, London Medal Company was formed to further develop this specialist area of expertise and provide collectors, historians and institutions with access to a wide range of British and world medals, orders and decorations.
