Uganda – Republic of: Distinguished Service Medal, silver, octagonal form, the obverse bearing the bust of President Idi Amin, and the embossed wording: ‘Republic of Uganda Medal’, the reverse with the embossed wording: ‘For Distinguished Service to the State 9.10.1962-25.1.1971’. As manufactured by Spink and Son of London, complete with original ribbon and with Spink mounting bar. Scarce.
Condition: this with evidence of having been worn, overall Good Very Fine.
For distinguished service to Uganda between independence on 9 October 1962 and Idi Amin’s military coup on 25 January 1971. This medal was instituted in 1972 and discontinued on 11 April 1979.
